1.) General Information
PokeMMO is exactly what it sounds like: an MMO (in other words, online) version of Pokemon. Traveling through Kanto and Hoenn with your friends has never been easier, as plenty of multiplayer functionality has transitioned beautifully to being able to click on another character and instantly do anything with them. It can be ran on Windows, Mac and even Linux PCs, and cmit doesn't need a very powerful piece of hardware at all to run the game. Costing no money to play and up to 3 characters per account, being equipped with a vibrant online community and weekly competitions and tournaments, PokeMMO is the dream game of anyone who enjoys playing Pokemon with other people.

2.) Making an Account
This is by far the easiest step. All you'll need is an email account, and if you don't have one... what are you even doing then?
First, just type 'PokeMMO' into your search engine and click the first link that pops up. The homescreen will look like this:

After that, look near the top of the screen and click the link that is labeled 'Account'. You should end up with this:
Go ahead and fill out everything there to make an account. A lot of usernames have been made, so it may take a few tries to get one. Same issue with the passwords as well. Once it says it worked, you have your account and are freely able to play on it once you have the game!
3.) Downloading the Resources from the Main Site
Back up near the top of the screen, click the link that's labeled 'Downloads'. You'll be given options for what OS you have, and then you should see something like this:
You've already made your account, so skip the 'Step 1' on the page. Go ahead and download Java if you haven't yet (though if you've played basically any other game on PC, you don't need to). Next, click the button labeled 'Download the Client' and you'll get an exe file named 'pokemmo-installer-(whatever type of computer you have, in my case it was 'windows').exe containing the main contents of the game. Go ahead and run it and export everything to your desktop. In other words, make a folder on your desktop like so:
And you should have nearly everything on your computer then!
4.) Additional Resources
I said 'nearly everything' up above because you aren't actually done. There are 3 things you still need to have:
1.) A FireRed rom
2.) An Emerald rom (assuming you want to play through Hoenn)
3.) A HeartGold or SoulSilver rom (100% optional, it only gives you graphical updates and the ability to have Pokemon follow you in the overworld)
As far as getting them, I can't actually provide any direct links since it's technically illegal to do so. However, it is not illegal to simply own these roms, just to provide them to other people directly. Therefore, I wish you luck in doing so. Just be wary of any websites that may give you viruses.
Once you have all of the roms you want, simply move theme over to the 'roms' file of your PokeMMO like so:
You should be able to run the application file in the main folder now! And that's how you install PokeMMO! Have fun playing through countless hours of gameplay alongside your friends!
