Ultima

Old-school fans, here is something special for you today. Github’s member ‘hankmorgan’ UnderworldExporter; a project that lets you experience the classic Ultima Underworld in Unity Engine with some major benefits. Thanks to this source port, players can use higher resolutions than those that are available in the DOS/GOG releases and use the mouse.

The latest release of UnderworldExporter fully supports the first Ultima Underworld game. Do note, however, that you will also need the original game files otherwise you won’t be able to play it.

Ultima Underworld Save Game Editor

According to its developer, the latest version of UnderworldExplorer features an overhauled AI, improves vanilla save-game compatibility and improves game load times.

Hankmorgan aims to support Ultima Underworld 2, System Shock 1 and Terra Nove Strike Force Centauri in future releases of this project so things will get really interesting when it does offer full support for the first System Shock game.

This is currently the best way to re-experience a truly classic game that inspired a lot of your beloved franchises. Without Ultima Underworld we may have never gotten System Shock, Bioshock, Elder Scrolls or Deus Ex.
